This credit card is designed for people who travel and stay at Starwood Hotel or Starwood Resorts. It provides bonus rewards when you spend money at Starwood plus you can earn free stays. This program works on Starpoint rewards. One Starpoint is rewarded to you for every dollar you spend on purchases that are not at a Starwood property. Each dollar you spend at the properties will reward you with three starpoints. You earn additional rewards by paying with your Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card. Another reward with this program are annual certificates that save you up to 50% on stays at the Starwood properties. You can also redeem your points for free weekend nights and there are no dates off limits to use your points. Starpoints can be transferred to travel points you can use with most airline carriers as well, so you are not limited to using up points only for accommodations. This card has a introductory offer of 2.90% APR. This is an excellent incentive to get into the program if you are a traveler who uses Starwood already but don't have the card. This introductory rate is good for six months and will then jump to 14.99% APR. Carrying a balance on this card after the first six months is not economical. You can transfer other credit card balances to this card at the same low introductory rate of 2.90%. This also is in effect for six months after which time the rate goes to the standard. Again, carrying a balance beyond the initial six month period is not something you probably want to do. There is no annual fee for this credit card the first year. You will be charged an annual fee of $30 starting your second year but if this card is something you use a lot and can get something out of the rewards, this is a small price to pay. This card is best for those who already have a good credit rating and who want to be able to earn rewards for travel. Especially for those who are already traveling and spending money at Starwood, the bonus rewards will certainly add up quickly. The Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit card is not for business people who routinely carries a large balance on their card because it does not offer low APR long term. |
